Save time by following these steps before you bring your device to our stores.

Step 1: Unpair Apple Watch (If Applicable)

If you have an Apple Watch connected with your iPhone, unpair it to remove activation lock:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch > All Watches (top-left corner).
  3. Tap the (i) icon next to your Apple Watch.
  4. Select Unpair Apple Watch and confirm.

Step 2: Back Up Your Data

If you need to keep your data, back it up before trading in:

  • iCloud Backup: 
    1. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
    2. Tap Back Up Now and wait for the process to complete.
  • Mac/PC Backup: 
    1. Connect your iPhone to a Mac (via Finder) or PC (via iTunes).
    2. Select Back Up Now under the device summary.

Step 3: Disable Find My

  1. Open Settings and tap [Your Name] (Apple ID at the top).
  2. Scroll down and tap Find my.
  3. Tap on Find My iPhone.
  4. Tap Turn Off to disable Find My iPhone.

Step 4: Sign Out From Apple ID

  1. Open Settings and tap [Your Name] (Apple ID at the top).
  2. Scroll down and tap Sign Out.
  3. Enter your Apple ID password to confirm.

Step 5: Remove SIM Card

  • Use a SIM ejector tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card.
  • If using an eSIM, ensure it's deactivated in Settings > Cellular.
